Cymbospondylus was the top preadator of the late Triassic era seas. It is related to the Mosasaurs in appearence, but is in fact an early icthyosaur. The diet of cymbospondylus was usually squid and any other cephalopods. It was also extremely large, one of the largest icthyosaurs ever to have evolved, at 10 metres in length. It existed 240-210 million years ago. Like all icthyosaurs, it was very fast.
